Scientific Retreat Research Program Pancreatic Diseases

The European Pancreas Center is one of the world’s leading clinics for the treatment of pancreatic diseases, and therefore offers an excellent basis for multi-disciplinary research on pancreatic cancer and pancreatitis. In order to fully exploit the competitive position of our research department in this field, we need to inform each other more regularly of our research activities, so we can inspire and help each other.

Importantly, the term ‘research’ should not be seen as restricted to the lab, but also includes efforts that take place in the clinic exclusively, such as the exploration of new surgical procedures and the application/evaluation of (neo)adjuvant regimens. It is therefore essential that both clinicians and researchers actively participate in this meeting.

This first colloquium will have the following aims:

  • To make an inventory of pancreas-related research activities in the Surgery Department
  • To identify the most promising research lines in each of the participating laboratories
  • To identify new opportunities for pre-clinical, translational and clinical research
